What could it be, now? What could it be? ... Not to spoil a good mystery; I, nevertheless, want to set minds at rest about what's coming up this year in the world of possible UFO bombshells. As you can see from the September cover of our magazine, we are publishing a story by an anonymous writer who says that he is an officer in the United States Air Force, assigned to a location where there is a strange object hovering at a certain distance above the ground, low enough to avoid all pesky radar signatures, but just high enough to be off the map. What is it? We can only surmise. Dennis Balthaser has written on USAF Col. X's site that the object appears to have the "slipper" shape that he has recognized from previous descriptions of UFOs. Perhaps it is the same type of slipper shape that was characteristic of the Kenneth Arnold sighting. Col. X, as you will read in the September issue, purchased a special type of imaging device for the location and was able to capture some images, which we've published in the magazine. But, again, we caution, we simply don't know what -- if anything -- this is. Folks may scream, "hoax" yet again, but we want to get to the bottom of this, so it gets into print for all of our readers to view and judge. Col. X tells us that Dr. Greer's Project Disclosure not only expressed interest, but sent some kind of advance team to the site. Don't know what they found. Don't know if they want to make any announcement. Don't know if this is on Greer's agenda for Steve Bassett's X-Conference in Gaithersburg in a couple of weeks. Don't know what anyone's plans are. We only know that if this is the big announcement that the Disclosure Project has located one of the government's UFOs or one of its Alien Reproduction Vehicles, it will start the disclosure season into motion. What I hope will be part of the culmination of the season will be a series of revelations coming, I expect, this spring. I know that it's tantalizing to hold out the hope of something big, but not to reveal it. And it's not a tease. It's more like the song Tony sings in West Side Story, when he announces that "something's coming." What's coming will have to be vetted, photographed, analyzed, tested out, photographed again and again, and exposed to all the experts in the field. This we plan to do. Right now, still way too early to tell. And tipping our hand might actually blow this chance to do the analysis that needs to be done. All we have at this moment is an ardent hope that this might be something we've been looking for for a long, long time. If it doesn't pan out, if it is truly fool's gold, then so be it. At least we gave it a shot. But if it does turn out to be what we think it might be, then we'll put it out there for everyone to see and very happily say to all the skeptics and debunkers, "Case closed. Over. And out."
